RObOT ART REVOLT // iMERSiVE PERfORMANCE
Robot Art Revolt is an immersive event featuring live performances, music, painting, talking, drinking, and much more.

New on Vimeo R.U.R at Prague Biennale 2023:
Automatism and freedom; participation in civil society; spontaneity and social architecture - these are the concerns that artist Guy Bar-Amotz brings to a new unconventional adaptation of R.U.R. – the play (1920) that coined the term ‘robot’.
Guy’s distinctive approach to art is integrated into this piece developed in collaboration with theatre maker, writer, playwright, academic and journalist from Italy Armando Rotondi and computer scientist Piers O’Hanlon through performers wearing mech-animated talking robot masks. Live motion comes into imaginative fusion with living sculpture, spatial sound, son-et-lumière stagecraft and interactive programming.

Guy Bar-Amotz has produced a recalibration of Karel Čapek’s ‘Rossum’s Universal Robots’ infusing the work with modern robotics and data technology. Collaborating with Max Gershon, Bar-Amotz presents an immersive prototype show that illustrates the power of robotic lifeforms and how they take over humanity. The event combines original composition, contemporary dance, video art and real robot performance.
The collaborators for this project are Guy Bar-Amotz (robot art), Max Gershon (choreography), DJ (light design), Graham Silbiger (music for R.U.R), Raanan Gabriel (typography and graphic design), DJ Webb (Lighting Design), and Peter Zwingli Hall (music for The Dickheads). Armando Rotondi contributed to the script and direction of acting for R.U.R, with Martin Lewton and Sofia Husen providing acting voices for the same project. Piers O’Hanlon worked on software design, while Under the Roof served as the creative producer.
The research and development for this project was supported by The Art Council England, with in-kind support from JV Home Ashford and Candid Arts Trust
